TERRY-O
My birth name is Valerie Ruth Theriault, born Pontiac, Michigan, August 6,1949. I'm the oldest of five. My maiden name is French; hence the name Terry-O. That is how the name sounds in pronouncing Theriault. In all the years of attending school, only one teacher ever pronounced it correctly. Mrs Laduke, a French teacher at Waterford Kettering HS.
I'm a mother and a grandmother. I have four children;
three girls, one boy, and five grandchildren.
I'm presently living in the small town of Whittemore, where I have just bought a home, but originally lived and raised my children in Waterford, Michigan. We moved twelve years ago to Iosco county, Sand Lake area, where I have done a few murals for local merchants and private people.
Sand Lake Sports Bar is where I painted my first three murals. After that I did a few outdoor murals in Long Lake and also in Tawas. But most of my work is done on saw blades and old prints I find in thrift stores or yard sales. I call it recycled art...ha ha ha. The blade art bears the last married name I carried (Emerson).
It was only recently, I decided to use 'Terry-O'.
I'm a self-taught artist, and my visual art is better than my imagination art. I can reproduce someone else's art very well. That should have been a clue to the art pursuit I should have taken; restoring art, or reproducing art. I also love to sculpt, and dabble in poetry. I have a few poems on the website 'poetry.com', under the name Valerie Emerson. I would also some day love to write science fiction. But for now I'll paint any where and every were. And I love to travel, so for a fair fee, I could come to you, and paint the painting you dream of.. Remember, I can paint anything your heart desires; people, animals, scenery, or a painting you have seen by someone else.
